According to republican North Carolina Senator Thom (the “h” is silent) Tillis, republicans will win in November because voters will remember “how good their lives were back in February,” Politico reports.
While there’s no reason to believe that mass amnesia will beset voters in North Carolina or across the nation, Tillis believes that a harkening back to the good ol’ days prior to the coronavirus, or the murder of George Floyd, or the economic collapse is the reason “why I know we’re going to win.”
It would be an unprecedented event of mass psychological disturbance for millions of people to spontaneously forget eight months of their lives. No such phenomenon has been recorded in human existence.
North Carolina is currently a “toss-up” state in the presidential election. Tillis himself is facing an uphill reelection battle against Democrat Cal Cunningham, with Cuningham holding a 3.7 point advantage according to poll aggregator RealClearPolitics.
