The United States registered more than 67,000 new coronavirus cases Saturday, raising the 7-day running average of new cases to a new high, according to data from worldometers.info.
The 7-day running average of new cases rose to 68,920, although the number of daily new cases reported was lower than yesterday.
The number of fatalities reported by worldometers for Saturday was 908, the first time in five days the site recorded fewer than 1,000 deaths from COVID. However, another tracker, The COVID Tracking Project, registered 1,037 fatalities for Saturday.
Arizona reported the most COVID fatalities for the day, with 144. Florida and Texas also recorded in excess of 100 deaths Saturday.
