The Oregon GOP missed a deadline by 29 seconds to file a statement that will appear on a voter guide mailed to all voters, resulting in the republican statement being left off the material, the Associated Press reports.
“Anyone wishing to submit information to the Voters’ Pamphlet has several weeks to do so and we recommend avoiding waiting until the last minute for this reason,” Laura Fosmire, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Bev Clarno, said in a statement.
The GOP is filing a lawsuit, claiming that they submitted the statement at 4:59 p.m., a minute before the deadline.
Clarno is the only republican holding statewide office in Oregon.
