The three children of Jared and Ivanka Trump Kushner were forced to transfer out of the private Jewish school they attended because parents and administrators were concerned about the Kushners’ disregard for coronavirus protocols required at the school, CNN reports.
The children, aged 9, 7 and 4, had attended the Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School, a private school near Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, with an annual tuition of $28,000. They are currently enrolled in Rockville’s Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy, a Modern-Orthodox Jewish school with a $20,000 annual tuition.
The reason for the transfer, according to various reports, is that the Kushners refused to adhere to the school’s rules regarding coronavirus. Parents of other students complained when the Kushners would show up at school events without wearing masks.
The school also required parents notify it when they or their children were in direct contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus, requiring the students to be quarantined at home for 14 days afterward. Apparently, the Kushners failed to report their contacts with Donald Trump, their father, and Melania Trump, Ivanka’s second step-mother, after they both tested positive for COVID; Donald Trump spent three days in the hospital being treated.
The Kushners also neglected to report their attendance at other superspreader events at the White House. Their children continued to attend classes at the school after the outbreaks were publicized.
