Law enforcement officers from the state of Florida this morning raided the home of Rebekah Jones, the former Florida state data scientist who blew the whistle on a scheme by Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to skew coronavirus data to support reopening businesses around the state.

Jones was fired from the state government in May 2020 for allegedly discussing the data publicly, and she set up an independent website that collected and aggregated coronavirus case data from publicly available sources.
Jones said in the Twitter thread that the state police officers were executing a warrant based on a complaint from the state Department of Health that she had breach computer security. They confiscated her computer and phone in the raid.
