Nine kids shot during weekend birthday party in Louisiana

Nine juveniles between the ages of 12 and 17 were shot during an apparent shootout Saturday night between two rival groups at a birthday party for a 12-year-old boy in LaPlace, Louisiana, according to Nola.com.

Two children remain hospitalized, including a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the head and a 16-year-old who was shot in the stomach. Only one of the people injured was a girl.

Police have not identified anyone who allegedly used a weapon during the shootout because those involved refuse to cooperate.
