“Royal Caribbean International will no longer require any of its cruise passengers to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as it had previously planned to. In a press release Friday announcing cruises for sale on eight of its ships from U.S. ports this summer, starting with Freedom of the Seas from PortMiami on July 2, the company said it will recommend passengers get the COVID-19 vaccine, but not require it. The announcement is a reversal from previous statements and vaccine protocols the company submitted to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month that said it would require all passengers at least 18 years old and older to be vaccinated,” the Miami-Herald reports.

Although the company is “strongly encouraging” guests to get vaccinated, the reality is that right now the vaccinated are staying away from activities where they might be introduced to Covid variants, and the MAGA faithful are running around un-masked and lying in the face of store clerks who ask them if they’ve had their jabs. The unvaccinated super-spreader cruises have the potential to become substantial virus transmission events, and those who have a dark sense of humor and love entropy and chaos are hoping for at least one major cruise ship outbreak.

The change in policy was made after bullying of cruise ship companies by Florida governor Ron DeSantis, and the realization that most of the pensioners who go on cruises are aging boomers who spend most of their free time watching FOX News and drunkenly complaining about liberals.
