On Thursday Democratic Wisconsin State Senator Chris Larsen tweeted “Today in Wisconsin GOP hypocrisy: Representative Shae Sortwell, who authored a ‘free speech’ bill to force social media companies to allow misinformation on their platforms, has now decided to block the public from commenting on his own Facebook posts”. Larsen was gentle enough to leave out the reason why, which was the Green Bay Press-Gazette’s reporting on a felony child abuse investigation against Sortwell that was dropped in 2013 before he had been elected to the state senate, which undoubtedly caused him to be hit with a torrent of angry replies on his Facebook page.
