Capitol rioter Thomas Sibick, accused of stealing Former DC cop Mike Fanone’s badge and radio while other MAGA terrorists were beating Fanone during the melee on January 6th, has requested a judge lift restrictions on his social media use so he can look for a job and “interact with members of the opposite gender for the purpose of establishing a friendship,” WUSA reports. Sibick, whose contrition and disgust with the “cult like” atmosphere of the DC jail cell block housing other Capitol rioters awaiting trial was evidently sincere enough to persuade Judge Amy Berman Jackson to allow Sibick’s release to home confinement with his parents in Buffalo, New York in October.
Finding female companionship and work would likely be tough for a 35 year old man confined to his parents’ house, especially one facing 20 years in prison for multiple federal felonies. Sibick’s attorney Stephen Brennwald acknowledges this in the filing, writing Sibick “would be unable to leave his home for the purpose of going to dinner. He does, however, feel the need to establish some sort of connection with someone (if possible, in light of his situation),” Brennwald adds.
