Florida’s 20th Congressional District will be represented by Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick: the Democratic nominee will follow Alcee Hastings, who died last April, to Congress, the New York Times reports.

The people of the south Florida region, around Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, overwhelming selected Cherfilus-McCormick over Republican challenger Jason Mariner by more than 50 percentage points.
