Republican Texas Congressman Troy Nehls has made a lot of headlines for his unsubstantiated claim that the Capitol Police are using “secret agents” to spy on him after (Nehls claims) they broke into his office. In fact, a Capitol Police officer found Nehls office door open late one night and saw suspicious writing on a white board.
Sick of his colleague’s constant belittling of officers who fought domestic terrorists bravely on January 6th, Democratic California Congressman Eric Swalwell found out why: Nehls had been fired by the Richmond (Texas) Police Department in 1998 for multiple issues. Apparently, Swalwell feels, Nehls resentment toward law enforcement continues.
