An ancient Roman bust dating to the 1st Century BC and believed to depict one of the sons of Caesar’s rival consul Pompey, looted from a collection that once belonged to King Ludwig I of Bavaria by an American soldier during World War II, was sold for a pretty decent price of $35 at a Goodwill thrift store in Texas, the AP reports. The new owner will reportedly give it back to the government of Bavaria, which is kind of bullshit since it was in Germany almost certainly only because the Visigoths looted it from Rome in like the 5th Century. So either hang onto it or send it back to Italy. The Germans are just middlemen here, even if it was for over 1,500 years.
