Queen of Alternative Facts and Woman of Questionable Parenting Skills Kellyanne Conway has published her memoir, “Here’s the Deal,” in which she glorifies her own existence and curiously fails to mention any of the foibles, errors and outright disasters her previous boss made.
According to the Washington Post, Conway’s 500-page book–which I will not read–is chock full of defenses of Donald Trump, claiming that many of the complaints and criticisms of Trump are a result of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” not actual facts, which Conway nimbly avoids.
Instead, her book is about her personal journey into the political limelight, and which in no small way was made possible by the likes of Bill Maher and others feature the perpetual liar on their political talk shows.
Conway’s biggest gripe appears to be with Jared Kushner, with whom Conway feuded as they vied for influence with Trump. “There was no subject he considered beyond his expertise. Criminal justice reform. Middle East peace. The southern and northern borders. Veterans and opioids. Big Tech and small business,” she writes. “If Martian attacks had come across the radar, he would have happily added them to his ever-bulging portfolio. He’d have made sure you knew he’d exiled the Martians to Uranus and insisted he did not care who got credit for it. He misread the Constitution in one crucial respect, thinking that all power not given to the federal government was reserved to him.”
She also slaps at Trump confident Paul Manafort, saying he “literally fell asleep during my PowerPoint on how to close the gender gap with Hillary. (He must have been on Ukraine time.).”
Conway’s self-glorification, and frequent “Mean Girls” tattling on the boys of the administration exemplifies her immature method for dealing with problems–an immaturity Trump apparently found endearing. And it’s an immaturity that landed her in hot water with her husband and teenage daughter, Claudia.
At one point, the public drama of her marriage got so prevalent and overwhelming that even Ivanka Trump stepped in, handing her a Post-It note with the names of two local counselors who specialized in marital relations.
