Texas Senator Cornyn cancels appearance at NRA convention

MSNBC reports that Republican Texas Senator John Cornyn has canceled an appearance he was scheduled to make at this week’s National Rifle Association conference that will be held Friday through Sunday in Houston, a four hour drive from the site of the school massacre in Uvalde. Cornyn cited a previously undisclosed personal event that would keep him in DC over the weekend. The other Texas Senator, Ted Cruz, and Republican Texas Gov Greg Abbott are still scheduled to appear, as is Donald Trump, who will never pass on an opportunity to go in front of a friendly crowd.
