“When a once in a century pandemic hit, I led based on facts–” Republican incumbent Florida Governor and guy who shops in the “husky” department Ron DeSantis claimed falsely at Monday’s debate against Charlie Crist.
“LIAR,” a member of the audience yells.
“–not based on fear. Uh… I lifted ya up, where some like Charlie Crist wanted to lock you down.”
For the record, Ron DeSantis recruited a Nigerian-born California doctor to be Florida’s Surgeon General because his own hand-picked health officials told him he was wrong and the man promoted fake coronavirus cures and treatments, even claiming at one point that vaccines don’t work. The doctor, Joseph Ladapo, promoted so-called “herd immunity,” which would have killed approximately 2% of the American population. He also supports a scientifically-false belief that transgenderism doesn’t exist. So much for “facts.”
