Former US Capitol cop Mike Riley, who was charged with two counts of obstruction after he warned a MAGA insurrectionist to delete his photos of the January 6th riot via Facebook messenger the very next day was convicted Friday on one count while the jury deadlocked on the other
“Hey Jacob, I’m a Capitol Police officer who agrees with your political stance,” Riley wrote to Trump fan Jacob Hiles. “Take down the part about being in the building they are currently investigating and everyone who was in the building is going to be charges. Just looking out!” Hiles, who pleaded guilty to misdemeanors, was sentenced to two years probation last December.
