Politico reports former Justice Department attorney and Trump lackey Jeffrey Clark can face a disciplinary hearing at the DC Bar Association, a federal judge determined Thursday, shutting down an effort by Clark to move the case to a federal court where he was expected to try to delay processes with endless motions.
Once considered by Trump to be Attorney General in the waning days of his single term in office, Clark will now face disciplinary action for “dishonest” actions and “seriously [interference] with the administration of justice” for drafting a letter as the acting head of the DOJ’s civil division urging state legislatures to reject the certified results of the 2020 election, one of many paths Trump tried to stay in office. While Clark’s letter claimed serious irregularities in the way the vote was tallied, no such irregularities were found.
