After the House passed a $60.8 billion aid bill for Ukraine by an overwhelming 311-112 vote, those 112 did not take the outcome well. Breaking into cheers after the vote closed, a bill supporter passed out Ukrainian flags. Colorado consort Lauren Boebert went to the well of the House demanding people put the flags away. Missing link Marjorie Taylor Greene was opening booing members holding Ukrainian flags. Maxim model and one-time “server” at a strip club Anna Paula Luna grabbed a mike to demand, “Put those damn flags away!”
In total, the House passed $95 billion in aid going to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Literally every foreign aid program opposed by the far-right, isolationist wing of the GOP passed with the overwhelming support of the House. Their power to do anything but disrupt proceedings and oust Republican Speakers (if Dems support the measures) is gone.
UPDATE (2:19 p.m. ET): Reportedly, the Pontius Pilate Caucus of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar and Thomas Massie all marched out of the chamber together, leading some to believe they would return with a motion to vacate the Speakership because Preacher Mike Johnson did his job. However, Marge told reporters later that she will not bring the motion today. Instead, she wants members to return to their districts to “hear from their constituents.”
