During her lengthy hostage negotiation meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday, white nationalist conspiracy freak Congresswitch Marjorie Taylor Greene demanded that the Jesus dork commit to no further military aid to Ukraine, defunding Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s ongoing prosecutions of her Orange God Emperor, and to stick to the “Hastert rule,” a proviso which requires that only legislation with the support of a majority of the majority can be put to the floor for a vote, Punchbowl News reports. They explained what the rule means but not that it’s named after a guy who served over a year in a federal prison after pleading guilty to paying his male molestation victims to stay quiet about him abusing them when they were kids.
“Greene doesn’t really see those political realities as hurdles – or care. She wants to cause legislative crises and get media coverage,” Punchbowl writes succinctly about her goals, making it all seem like an “exit ramp” for both her and Johnson. Ukraine isn’t getting any more aid before 2025, if ever. Jack Smith’s electricity and internet bills are paid for through at least the rest of the fiscal year, and trying to pull the plug on him would be DOA in the Senate. There’s not a lot of actual legislating left to do before September beyond an FAA reauthorization. All of which seems to not really worry Johnson.
