Trump fanboys are kind of freaking the fuck out over this screenshot of a WABC 7 New York Eyewitness News broadcast from Thursday night. We don’t have a video clip of it. Nor do we have a lot of other context. It sure looks like that’s Trump on stage but we can’t say for certain. Maybe it was Andrew Giuliani warming up the crowd. Some whiny asshole tried to say that footage was taken before the rally, at 11:09 AM. Problem is that The View was on at 11:00 AM while the nightly newscast was at 11:00 PM. And it had also poured rain from about 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Thursday.
So the preponderance of evidence we have at hand says there were low-to-mid four-digits of people there at best. Every single image we have from right wing sources is a ground-level view of the crowd, making it impossible to even ballpark the size of the crowd. There are no wide-angle shots of Trump on stage, surrounded by a mass of tens of thousands of revelers. We don’t need to speculate that it’s by design from the Unified Reich of the Trump campaign and MAGA media.
