A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia will be meeting Thursday to hear convicted felon President Trump’s minions pitch a new federal felony case against New York Attorney General Letitia James for “mortgage fraud” after the first one was dismissed last month due to now-former Acting US Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s non-lawful appointment to the post, Reuters reports.
Actually the headline’s wrong because this’ll be the third attempt. The first grand jury that examined days’ worth of evidence and testimony never ended up voting on the charges, the second one saw an extremely pared-down presentation before returning the indictment that was ultimately tossed due to Halligan’s illegitimacy rather than the very large multitude of other problems with the case.
