Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev, a man who has spent 651 days orbiting the Earth aboard the International Space Station and is no doubt highly trained on how to operate some extremely complex machinery, apparently has some difficulty operating a motor vehicle at night as he ran over a Roscosmos employee who was crossing a road at a training facility Monday, the AP reports.
Artemyev immediately rendered first aid to the victim, Anatoly Uronov, an employee at the Star City training center outside of Moscow, who was hospitalized with several bone fractures. Roscosmos emphasized in a statement that Artemyev, who just three weeks ago returned from an extended mission on board the ISS, was sober and immediately called police after running over the man.
