A Monday report on FoxNews.com about Republican sitcom star Timothy Allen Dick omits the convicted drug trafficker’s true surname, referring to him solely by the abbreviated stage name, Tim Allen. It’s not clear why Fox News chose not to expose the surname as written on the “Tool Man” actor’s official personal documentation in the content of the article like it were the bottom half of the face of the wise and grandfatherly neighbor “Wilson” on Home Improvement. Of course as Dick is more popularly known as “Tim Allen” it makes sense in the headline and lede, however they should’ve exposed the Dick part at some point, maybe toward the end. Otherwise some people may start to question Fox News’s commitment to journalistic integrity.
Worse yet, readers do not appear to be aware of the omission. “With the exception of her getting paid to do this or some somehow bolster her career or keep he name in the spotlight somehow (Some people need to retire), I really do not think someone exposing themselves would not be an issue with her,” wrote “inspector1369” in the current top comment on the article.
