Republican Texas state Senator Drew Springer this filed a bill to impose fines equal to the cost of an investigation on any person files three or more complaints with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality about the same issue in one calendar year that result in no enforcement or action by the agency in order to tamp down on “vexatious” complaints, the Dallas Observer reports.
Nice to see Texas Republicans taking the same approach to environmental regulation as they are with voting: Making the process intimidating to the average Joe so they don’t bother participating.
