Feel free to call this article a little too Raw Story-ish, but Lawfare Georgia correspondent Anna Bower on Monday brought up a very interesting theory as to why Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has held off on the “imminent” charging decision she said was coming in January: The Republican majority Georgia state legislature’s ongoing session, which ends on Tuesday.
“Some of us who follow the Fulton County case closely have speculated that Georgia’s ongoing legislative session could be one reason (among others) why ‘imminent’ indictments have not materialized. That session ends tomorrow,” Bower wrote. Again, while we loathe the “WATCH: MSNBC LEGAL EXPERT SAYS TRUMP IS SO FUCKED IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY, LOL”-type headlines Raw Story, Palmer Report, and their ilk have published 20-plus times a day, every day, for the past six years, this particular bag of hopium sure is damn compelling when you look at how Jim Jordan reacted to the Manhattan DA’s Trump indictment and how that one MAGA asshole state senator freaked out and tried to criminalize that wacky special grand jury forewoman’s media tour.
