Following in the tradition of $15 packs of cigarettes being opened so the smokes can be sold individually, New York City’s bodegas are starting to sell eggs as “loosies” too, WCBS reports.
“If you have $20 and you want to make breakfast for two or three people, and you’re already spending $12 for one item, something, how are they going to buy the bread, the milk, the butter and all that stuff?” said Bronx bodegaman Radhames Rodriguez, whose $12 dozen eggs can now be bought three for $3. The idea isn’t exactly revolutionary given the aforementioned cigarette offerings and that individual hardboiled eggs typically are available for sale at these places too, so much as just another sign of the times of Americans living with the second Trump Regime’s failures.
