Two days after COVID coverage was supposed to stop, US sets new record with 116,000 cases

In the second day of no media coverage for the coronavirus, a claim based on incumbent republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made during the campaign, the United States recorded a new daily record of coronavirus cases.

More than 116,000 cases were confirmed in the United States, according to the COVID Tracking Project. The US also recorded 1,124 fatalities, the fourth consecutive day with more than 1,000 deaths. Trump claimed that media coverage of the coronavirus would disappear after the election, but with new records being set daily, the media continues to inform the public, contrary to Trump assertion.
