In an article headlined “Florida parent demands resignation of school board chair who celebrated Hulk Hogan’s death,” Fox News reports that they found some random dad of an Alachua County, Florida Public Schools student to demand that Sarah Rockwell, chair of the district’s baord, resign for writing “Oh did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world,” in a since-deleted post after the openly racist and fascist pro wrestler expired at age 71 on July 24th. Rockwell then added in a reply to herself that the Hulkster had “worked with the McMahons to union bust professional wrestling. He’s never been a good guy. I feel absolutely nothing about his death.”
Jeremy Clepper, whose name does not appear on voter rolls in that town in the Sunshine State, told Fox in a statement that “needs to resign because of her comment ‘good, one less MAGA in the world,’ saying she wants all MAGAs dead,” and that it’s “absolutely terrifying that someone like her is at the head of the system.” Fox News’s article then links to a video of a school board meeting at which Clepper spoke at, writing that Clepper said “he was ‘initially removed’ from the meeting but that the environment became so hostile that he ended up leaving.” The link leads to a Twitter video posted by an influencer Corey A DeAngelis “school choice evangelist,” whose profile banner features convicted felon President Trump’s boilerplate endorsement of his book “The Parent Revolution.”
In that thread DeAngelis hypes Clepper’s brand spanking new Twitter account…

Three years ago Florida was the epicenter of the “Moms for Liberty” movement, an astroturfed right wing media scam designed to rope in normie, apolitical parents who had been beyond fed up with the ongoing disruptions to family life caused by school closures and remote learning during the COVID pandemic which then bootstrapped on “Critical Race Theory,” an obscure, Ivory Tower-bound circlejerk that had fuck all to do with regular K-12 education, which then moved onto banning “pornography” from books in school libraries, “Don’t Say Gay,” and then by the time Republican politicians were openly lying about kids “identifying as cats” to use litter boxes in schools was when it was pretty goddamned obvious that they had run out fresh ideas for outrage porn.
The spirit of the fad movement obviously remains – even if the bisexual swinger freak co-founder of M4L does not – and probably will be reactivated someday now that the playbook’s been written and put into practice across the country. They just might want to find something a little more portable than “terror” induced by a school board chair mocking Hulk Hogan’s death in a Facebook post she deleted. At least Fox News got two articles out of the post and the rest of us get to watch Jeremy Clepper’s new career as a right wing influencer take flight with scarcely any fuel in the tank.
Let’s see how far he makes it from the runway.
