The United States continued its new spike in coronavirus cases and case fatalities today, coming within a hair’s breadth of setting a new daily record, according to statistics aggregator worldometers.com.
On Wednesday, the US recorded 71,760 new coronavirus cases, just short of the one-day record the nation set four days ago on July 10th with 71,787.
Daily fatalities in the United States finished at 997.
Texas and Florida topped 10,000 new cases today, with Texas, Florida and California recording over 100 fatalities in the day. Arizona was fourth with 97 deaths from coronavirus today.
