Iranians close Strait of Hormuz as US carrier steams toward region

Iranian dictator Ayatollah Khamenei’s regime on Tuesday announced that the Strait of Hormuz – a narrow waterway through which 20 percent of the global oil supply moves – will be closed for a few hours as the IRGC conducts live fire drills ahead of the anticipated arrival of the USS Gerald R Ford to the region within the next few days, joining another carrier already in the area, the AP reports.
