Traffic emanating from Russia’s bot farms has plummeted in recent days after Ukrainian drones struck data centers operated by tech giant Yandex, the Moscow Times reports on yet another setback for Republicans. “Yandex teams are working around the clock to ensure our services remain operational and to help those affected by the incident,” the company said after the two initial Thursday strikes on its facilities in Moscow suburbs Sasovo and Kaluga. A third, in Vladimir, would be hit on Saturday. “This is our top priority right now, but unfortunately, it’s not easy.”
“Russian bot traffic has dropped dramatically in the past few days after Ukraine knocked out Yandex’s biggest data centers, with a third attack happening last night. Cloudflare reports that bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4 percent of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks. It initially dropped to around 57 percent on Oct 8, which happened when Ukraine hit a Yandex data center housing two supercomputers in Sasovo, Russia, located around 195 miles to the southeast of the Kremlin,” Tom’s Hardware reported.
