David Kyle Reeves, a 27-year-old man from Gastonia, North Carolina, has been charged by federal officials with threatening to kill President Joe Biden and other Administration officials, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Reeves called the White House switchboard multiple times from January 28th through February 1st making his threats. When he was contacted by the Secret Service who was investigating the threats, Reeves repeated the threats and dared the Secret Service to come and get him.
“I’m going to come kill the president, I’m going to kill the Secret Service because I own this whole planet,” Reeves said in a phone call to a Secret Service special agent, according to an affidavit.
During another call, Reeves told the special agent from the Secret Service he wanted them “to come pick him up, and take him to the White House so he can punch the President in the face, sit in his chair, and stay there until he dies.”
Reeves has a history of violent, criminal acts, having been arrested for assault, family violence, terroristic threats and acts, assault on a police officer while resisting arrest, violation of family violence order, malicious injury willful injury to courthouse, threatening the life of a public employee and criminal trespass, among other arrests.
