A tense and terrifying exchange was caught on some rightwing dickhead radio host’s show on Wednesday when Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and an unnamed caller got into it over Capitol rioter Ashli Babbitt’s January 6th shooting death at the hands of an unidentified US Capitol police officer.
Here’s a transcript of the segment, spotted by CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski:
Caller: This is my gut feeling that everybody knows the name of the guy that shot [Ashli Babbitt], why don’t you be the one who leaks his name finally?
Sen. Cramer: Why would I do that?
Caller: Because everyone leaks everything. We have the right to know.
Sen. Cramer: Why do you have the right to know?
Caller: Because I’m a citizen of the United States. That’s why I have the right to know. Why don’t I have the right to know? Why don’t you tell me that?
Sen. Cramer: Well, first of all, I don’t the person who shot her.
Caller: Why don’t I have the right to know Kevin?
Sen. Cramer: Because the person that shot her is a police officer shooting a criminal not complying with officers’ telling her ‘stop, don’t come through that window, we have guns drawn, don’t do it.’ They’re protecting people and the officer was found to be innocent of any wrongdoing. So then what would be the purpose of releasing that officer’s name? What do you need to know the officer’s name for?
Caller: Well because we know everybody else’s name if a police officer shoots a citizen of this country. I mean crying out loud, if you shoot an illegal alien, we’re going to know that police officer’s name. This is a police officer that shot someone in our capitol and his name is being withheld.
Sen. Cramer: Personally, I don’t know what the law says about releasing someone’s name. He’s not a suspect of any crime. He’s been found not guilty of any wrongdoing. It seems to be kind of a textbook situation, frankly. I’m the one who personally does not think there is a right to know the name of every police officer who shoots a criminal or perpetrator, unless of course there are charges brought or an indictment brought, or something like that. I’ll look into it to see what the law says about the release of the name. I’m just grateful for this person, quite honestly.
Wow. Wonder what was going on in Cramer’s head right there. He couldn’t have screwed this up worse in my opinion, especially given his use of language like “police officer shooting a criminal not complying”, similar to how “Law and Order” types typically explain away an unarmed Black man being shot. Almost like he’s applying that reasoning consistently or something and not just performing and saying whatever stupid shit comes to mind because deal with it libtards.
We’re looking forward to reporting on the North Dakota GOP voting to censure Kevin Cramer and/or the launch of a Trump-endorsed primary campaign, probably by this caller, here on National Zero.
