West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, a hardcore “Stop the Steal” MAGA dipshit, was the only top state election official to vote against a non-binding resolution before the National Association of Secretaries of State on how post-election audits should be conducted, citing some bullshit excuses that seem to indicate he wants to remain flexible in how to rile up white voters into believing there’s some vast conspiracy against them, West Virginia MetroNews reports.
Mike Queen, a spokesman for Warner offered some lame reasons to a MetroNews reporter who inquired, citing that Warner “thought the organization’s formal resolution went a little too far” as if the recommendations therein included sending every ballot to Soros HQ for tabulation. Warner was also supposedly wary of a lack of state legislative input, a particularly fucking stupid excuse considering the recommendations weren’t meant to guide legislation but to be implemented within the confines of what Secretaries of States’ existing mandates are. Probably worth mentioning here is that the only state legislator, indeed the only elected official that we’re aware of (besides that “Cowboys for Trump” asshole who’s also a county commissioner in New Mexico) arrested for storming the Capitol on January 6th was a now-former West Virginia state assemblyman, Derrick Evans. So yeah, you can tell Warner’s real serious about improving this proposed framework when he wants to ask that guy’s buddies to pitch in some ideas on how to run elections.
Now while Warner was the only election chief in the conference to vote no, only 48 voted yes, as Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft abstained. He didn’t say why, but it’s probably similar stupid reasons. Maybe Warner and Ashcroft should call in the Cyber Ninjas to do an audit see if 96% of the Secretaries of State really voted in favor of this resolution and then ask Mike Lindell to look into it too because NO had way more enthusiasm and I’ll leave it off there.
