A woman and her granddaughter were shot and killed while entering a Frankfort, Indiana automotive plant to start their shifts Wednesday, and another worker was apprehended relating to their murders, USA Today reports.
The 4:15 p.m. (local time) shooting in the parking lot of NHK Seating of America factory took the lives of Promise Mays, 21. and her grandmother, Pamela Sled, 62, both of neighboring Rossville. Mays and Sled were both employed on the factory’s evening shift.
Gary C. Ferrell II, 26, of Frankfort, who worked the day shift at the same factory, was arrested after fleeing the scene in his car and crashing less than a mile from the factory. The victims reportedly knew the shooter, but the motive for the murders is unknown.
