Despite Ohio Republican Senate candidate JD Vance’s campaign claiming they moved the Sunday “meet and greet” event with white nationalist Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene due to high demand, management at the Landing Event Center in suburban Cincinnati says they actually canceled when they found out Greene would be there, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Though the Landing publicly toed the Vance campaign’s line in a Facebook post, saying “Due to the tremendous interest in the JD Vance presentation that was scheduled to take place here this Sunday, it has been relocated to the Marriott NE located in Deerfield Twp. We appreciate everyone’s interest and concerns,” general manager Jodi Taylor did not mention RSVPs when she spoke to the Enquirer. “We just chose to respect it was a very emotional topic. People are passionate about what they believe. We were wrapping our heads around what was going on. We didn’t know there would be a guest,” Taylor told the Enquirer, adding “It doesn’t matter what we do. We have both sides upset.” The “meet-and-greet” marks the first joint public appearance of the currently second-place Vance and the unfaithful wife since her big endorsement.
