A New Jersey couple who were married 62 years died of coronavirus within hours of one another in April, just two days after their 51-year-old son also died of the disease, CNN reported based on a press conference by the governor.
Larry and Vicki Freda were both born in Newark, New Jersey before taking up residence in Fairfield Township, where they raised three sons. Before retirement, Larry spent nearly a quarter century working in a brewery before taking a job as a custodian at a local school; Vicki was an executive secretary in the mayor’s office.
We remember Larry and Vicki Freda, and their son, John. One family.
John was a proud Jersey product all the way. He had a creative soul, loving to write, draw, and work on art projects. He was an avid reader & movie buff. John was funny, thoughtful, intelligent, & introspective. pic.twitter.com/OsWUv7Cjsb

Their son John was an optician with three sons. His two brothers and their children survive them.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy memorialized the Fredas in today’s press conference to remind the people of the state of the toll the coronavirus is taking. New Jersey has 180,000 cases and 15,000 fatalities from coronavirus.
“The Freda family is just one of thousands of families who know all too well the awful strength and power of this virus,” said Murphy. “For them, and for us all, we must continue to do everything we can to slow the spread of this virus and save lives.
