Actually hiring a lawyer instead of representing himself, Trump White House douchebag Peter Navarro pleaded not guilty Friday to the criminal contempt of Congress charge he was arrested on earlier this month, Law and Crime’s Adam Klasfeld reports. Navarro’s attorney, former House Oversight Committee GOP investigative counsel John Irving, asked the court not to set a trial date because of “novel constitutional issues” in the indictment and he thinks “there’s a lot to sort out here,” to which Judge Amit Mehta probably rolled his eyes and made the “jerking off” hand motion.
Irving asked Mehta to fit Navarro’s upcoming book’s marketing tour which is “very important to his livelihood” into the schedule for the trial. Mehta then set the trial start date for November 17th. Navarro also moved to dismiss his lawsuit against the House January 6th Select Committee, motted now that he’s been charged with criminal contempt.
