A 51-year-old West Virginia woman emerged from a two-year-long coma, brought on by a bloody attack at her home, and told police it was her older brother who had butchered her with an axe or a hatchet in 2020, CNN reports.
In June 2020, Wanda Parker of Cottageville was found sitting up on the couch in her home with her body covered in wounds made by an axe or hatchet. First responders initially though she was dead, but paramedics discovered she was breathing shallowly.
Earlier this month, Parker awoke from her coma at her care facility and was able to answer yes or no questions from police, who were able to discern from her answers that her 55-year-old brother Daniel had attacked her. Daniel was arrested on Friday and charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding.
