Tucker Carlson, the heir to the Birdseye food fortune and a Fox “News” program host, questioned the patriotism of US Senator Tammy Duckworth, who lost her legs while serving as a helicopter pilot in the Iraq war.
After trying to give himself an excuse by prefacing his attack with “You’re not supposed to criticize Tammy Duckworth in any way because she once served in the military,” Carlson described Sen. Duckworth as “a deeply silly and unimpressive person” and stated that she and other Democrats “deeply hate America.”
Duckworth responded searingly on Twitter:
Does @TuckerCarlson want to walk a mile in my legs and then tell me whether or not I love America?

Sen. Duckworth, of Illinois, is rumored to be on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s short list of running mates. She lost her legs in 2004 after the combat helicopter she was piloting in Iraq was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade and crashed.
Carlson is a paleoconservative who is best known for wearing bow ties and getting smacked down for false patriotism by Jon Stewart.
