Amazon has instructed all its employees to delete the Tik Tok app from any mobile device that has access to Amazon’s internal email systems, The New York Times reports. The app must be deleted by Friday.
Tik Tok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance and has been suspected of giving Chinese government authorities access to hack into systems through mobile devices, allowing them to access customer data and other personal and corporate information.
Amazon said employees can still access Tik Tok from a laptop browser, however, but the app must be deleted from any mobile device.
