Natalie Harp, a “Right to Try” advocate who believes that any patient should have the right to try any drug they select to try to treat a medical problem, said that Trump has made it easier for people to get drugs at lower prices
Harp, a survivor of bone cancer, said Democrats would only advocate giving her as patient legal marijuana, opioids and a “right to die with dignity, a politically correct way of saying assisted suicide.” (Fact check: “Assisted suicide” is a politically correct way of saying “assisted suicide.”)
She says pharma companies didn’t “want [her] in their clinical trials; [she] woulda made them look bad.” (Fact check: that’s not how clinical trials work. They actually have a number of patients who will die regardless of the potential effectiveness of a drug.)
She claimed that if it weren’t for Donald Trump, the opioid epidemic would have “stolen more lives from even more families.” (Fact check: opioid deaths surged to record levels in 2019, with 72,000 fatalities recorded.)
Harp claimed that there’s a health plan that is “60% cheaper than Obamacare.” (Fact check: you don’t buy Obamacare.)
“For in Joe Biden’s America,” Harp continued, “China would control our drug production. We’d be one step closer to government run health care. (Fact check: Medicare, Medicaid and the VA are government run healthcare.) We would just be lucky to keep our doctor; we’d be lucky if we could see any doctor. And even then, some of us would be denied care.”
