President Trump, Attorney General William Barr and Chad Wolf, who questionably has the title of Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, are visiting with civil and business leaders in Kenosha, Wisconsin to address what he called “domestic terror” following protests in the city that stemmed from a police officer shooting a 29-year-old Black man, Jacob Blake, seven times in the back, paralyzing him.

In a room with 22 people, none of who were wearing face masks or socially distanced, Trump commented, “I feel so safe, and you went through hell just a few days ago.  I better feel safe.”  Trump did not note that he travels with a full Secret Service complement to ensure his safety.

John Antaramian, the mayor of Kenosha, and Tony Evers, the governor of Wisconsin, both Democrats are not attending the event.  Antaramian has said that Trump’s appearance would stoke tensions in the city.

“You have people who choke,” Trump said, repeating an inappropriate term in describing police office who make a wrong decision that costs someone their life.  Trump also made his “bad apple” metaphor and said that the Kenosha police department would process those people out.

Trump said that he was providing $1 million to Kenosha law enforcement, $4 million to local businesses to rebuild, and $42 million to statewide prosecutors.  Wisconsin is a vital swing in Trump’s effort to gain reelection.

“All these are Democrat.  Nobody says that,” Trump babbled about US cities that have seen a spike in crime since he came into office.  “The top ten, the top twenty-five cities, they’re all Democrat run having these problems.”
