Cory Gardner, the republican Senator from Colorado who’s facing an uphill battle to retain his seat, has said he will vote to confirm whomever President Trump nominates to fill the seat on the Supreme Court held by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, NBC News reports.
The announcement makes it more difficult for Democrats to block any nomination until after the inauguration of the winner of the November elections.
Hypocritically, Gardner released a statement in 2016 denying President Obama the ability to nominate Merrick Garland to an open SCOTUS seat, saying “The Obama Administration continues to use the judicial and regulatory systems to push through its legislative agenda, shifting the balance of power that our Founders established.”
