After eight members of the Tennessee Titans tested positive for coronavirus Tuesday, the NFL has announced the postponement of Sunday’s scheduled game between the Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers, ESPN reports.
Three players and five staff members of the Titans are infected with the coronavirus. The Sunday game will be rescheduled for later in the week, possibly Monday or Tuesday, to make sure no other Titans test positive.
“I know there’s going to be a lot of questions about the game and about who’s to blame and where it started. Nobody’s to blame. We’re in a pandemic,” Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said. “… This is a very unfortunate situation, but one that we’re confident that we will be able to handle safely with the football team and the players’ best interests in mind.”
The Minnesota Vikings, the Titans opponent last Sunday, have had no players test positive.
