A majority of Americans, 52%, want the winner of the November election to name the next Supreme Court justice, down slightly from the 57% polled immediately after the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Washington Post reports.
62% of Americans feel that Roe v. Wade should be upheld, more two-and-a-half times the number of people who want to see the law overturn, at 24%. Republicans are roughly equal in their views of the opinion, with 40% saying it should be upheld versus 44 to overturn.
Among Catholics, 60% support Roe, with less than half that saying it should be overturned.
