Republican MI Senate candidate John James finally concedes

The Republican candidate for the Michigan Senate seat, John James, has finally conceded the race, ensuring that incumbent Democrat Gary Peters keeps the seat, the Detroit News reports.

Peters had a 92,000 vote lead in the state with less than 2% of the vote reportedly still outstanding.

Control of the Senate will fall to the outcome of two Georgia runoff elections. Currently, the GOP holds a 50-48 advantage in the Senate.
