Former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page filed $75 million suit in US District Court against the Department of Justice, former FBI Director James Comey, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and others for obtaining a FISA warrant targeting him.
Page included the US Government, the FBI, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Kevin Clinesmith, ten unspecified men and ten unspecified women as well as others in the lawsuit, claiming he was “wronged” by the renewal of a surveillance warrant granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. The original FISA warrant and its initial renewal were reviewed by DoJ’s inspector general and found to be valid, but two subsequent renewals were ruled invalid due to a lack of ongoing productivity of the warrants.
Page claims the basis the original warrant was a solely the dossier compiled by Christopher Steele, a misrepresentation of the initial warrant application released by Devin Nunes.
Demanding a jury trial, Page seeks $75 million in compensatory damages as well as an unspecified amount of punitive damages.
