Twitter has banned the accounts for hundreds of QAnon proponents including former national security advisor Michael Flynn and ersatz Elite Special Force Team lawyer Sidney Powell in a purge of conspiracy theorists from the platform, NBC News reports.
“The accounts have been suspended in line with our policy on Coordinated Harmful Activity. We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm, and given the renewed potential for violence surrounding this type of behavior in the coming days, we will permanently suspend accounts that are solely dedicated to sharing QAnon content,” a Twitter spokesperson told NBC News.
Flynn’s and Powell’s accounts were two of the high profile accounts deleted. Twitter also banned the account of Ron Watkins, the administrator of the 8kun, the internet site considered the home of Q and the center of the conspiracy theorists.
