An unhinged and nearly apoplectic Sean Hannity yelled at his audience that Republicans should not even attend the Senate impeachment trial for Donald Trump and that Trump shouldn’t even send lawyers to the proceedings.
“You shouldn’t be a part of this, this, this circus of the Democrats,” Hannity bellowed in a historic hissy fit. “Stop enabling these psychotic, mentally unhinged Democratic Socialists and [Trump] should waste his time or money even bothering to send a lawyer.”
In a later segment interviewing Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, Hannity demonstrated his ignorance, apparently unaware that impeachment can lead to a loss of pension and government-sponsored travel allowance (of up to $1 million per year), as well as a ban from holding federal public office in the future.
“Here’s what we should do: we should follow the Constitution, we should come together as Americans, we should reject post-presidential impeachments because it will destroy the country and it will incite violence,” Graham said, apparently referring to the violence-prone followers of Trump. “If you want to end the violence, end impeachment,” Graham continued, as though it were a bargaining chip.
“Any Republican, I can’t support ’em,” Hannity stammered. “If they’re going to waste our time, money on this nonsense after somebody’s out of office, it’s, it’s it’s… I just ca–… Mitt Romney, have at it. That’s my answer.”
